AP

Clemson is ranked No. 12 in the preseason Associated Press college football poll released Sunday.

Clemson finished 10-3 last season and ended the year No. 15 in the AP rankings. The Tigers, who open this season at home Sept. 5 against Wofford, also are No. 12 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Ohio State is the first unanimous preseason No. 1 in the AP Top 25. The defending national champion Buckeyes received all 61 first-place votes from the media panel in the rankings released Sunday.

TCU is No. 2, followed by Alabama, Baylor and Michigan State.

Preseason rankings date back to 1950. Since then no team had received more than 97 percent of the first-place votes in a preseason poll.
