Indiana forward enjoyed Clemson visit

Small forward Brachen Hazen (6-8) of Columbia City, Ind. made a long trip Thursday and Friday but it was well worth the effort. Hazen started with a visit to Maryland on Thursday then headed south where he took in Clemson on Friday.

"It was fun, I really enjoyed it," Hazen said of the Clemson visit. "The campus was nice and the coaches are cool and everything. They see me fitting in as a freshman, working hard and maybe getting a role helping the team. They're trying to get the right players. Coach Brad (Brownell) talked to me about playing the four. He showed me film of one of his players (KJ McDaniels) who could pick and pop. I felt like I'm a take for Clemson."

Hazen said he also enjoyed the visit to Maryland. He is down to Clemson, Maryland, Central Florida, Valparaiso and Ball State. He's visited each unofficially and his only scheduled official visit at this time is one to Central Florida September 3rd. He plans to set one with Maryland for October. He doesn't have a favorite and plans to make a decision in November.

Hazen has excellent three point shooting skills and spends a lot of his tie behind the line. He averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds per game last season.
