There’s a new top cat in college football: The Clemson Tigers are No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings and, as of this week, the top-ranked team in the Associated Press media poll.

Clemson’s top ranking in the AP poll marks the first time the Tigers have held that position since the final poll of the 1981 season, when Clemson won its only national football title.
