Watson wins Davey O’Brien Award

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson is the best quarterback in the country.

The sophomore was awarded the Davey O’Brien Award, given to the best quarterback, at the College Football Awards Show Thursday night in Atlanta.

Watson is the first Clemson quarterback to win the award and the second ACC quarterback to receive the honor in three seasons, joining Jameis Winston of Florida State, who won in 2013.

The past five winners of the Davey O’Brien Award also won the Heisman Trophy. Watson is one of three finalists for the Heisman, which will be awarded on Saturday night.
