The AP’s All-Time Top 100: Where Clemson ranks
Clemson spent much of last year ranked No. 1 in most polls.
On Tuesday, the Associated Press released an all-time ranking of college teams based on its poll, and the Tigers didn’t come away too badly. They came in 22nd overall, between Arkansas and Pitt, and third in the ACC behind only Florida State (9) an Miami (13).
Clemson has reached No. 1 seven times and appeared in 35.09 percent of all AP polls. Their best decade was the 1980s, when they took their lone national title and posted six other top-20 finishes.
Ohio State finished No. 1 on the list.
To determine an all-time Top 100 for the first time, the AP counted poll appearances (one point) to mark consistency, No. 1 rankings (2 points) to acknowledge elite programs and gave a big bonus for AP championships won (10 points).
