Clemson, Charleston, Coastal headed to NCAA Baseball Tournament; USC misses out

The Clemson, College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina baseball teams are headed to the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers (32-27, 16-13 ACC) beat out North Carolina for the final at-large bid to the tournament. Clemson made it in as a No. 3 seed and will play at Cal State Fullerton’s regional and face No. 2 Arizona State in a first-round game this weekend. Pepperdine is the fourth team in that regional.

South Carolina (32-25, 13-17 SEC) did not make the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1999.

College of Charleston (43-13, 21-3 CAA) is the No. 2 seed in the Tallahassee Regional hosted by Florida State. The Cougars will play No. 3 seed Auburn in a first-round game. Mercer is the fourth team in the regional.

Coastal Carolina (38-19, 17-7 Big South) is a No. 2 seed at the Texas A&M regional. The Chants will play No. 3 seed Cal in first-round game. Texas Southern is the fourth team in the regional.
