Coastal Carolina baseball is headed back to Omaha.

The Chanticleers clinched their second College World Series appearance on Saturday after sweeping SEC team Auburn 2-0 in a best-of-three super regional series.

Now, the Chants are returning to Charles Schwab Field for the second time in program history and first time since 2016, when they won what’s still widely regarded as one of college baseball’s most improbable national championships.

Here’s an early look at Coastal’s first matchup and the rest of the 2025 CWS bracket:

Who made the 2025 College World Series?

The following teams made the 2025 CWS, listed with their pre-tournament seeding: No. 3 Arkansas (SEC), No. 6 LSU (SEC), No. 8 Oregon State (independent), No. 13 Coastal Carolina (Sun Belt), No. 15 UCLA (Big Ten), Louisville (ACC), Arizona (Big 12) and Murray State (Ohio Valley).

When is Coastal Carolina’s first CWS game?

Coastal Carolina (53-11) will play its opening College World Series game against Arizona (44-19) on Friday, June 13 at 2 p.m. Eastern. ESPN will broadcast the game.

The loser of Coastal Carolina-Arizona will play the loser of Oregon State-Louisville on Sunday (2 p.m., ESPN), while the Coastal-Arizona winner plays the Oregon State-Louisville winner on Sunday at 6 p.m. (ESPN).

Those four teams make up Bracket 1. Bracket 2 features Arkansas, LSU, UCLA and Murray State. Those teams will begin play Saturday, and winners will play Monday. The Bracket 1/Bracket 2 winners will play a best-of-three College World Series champion series starting Saturday, June 21.

How did Coastal Carolina get here?

Coastal Carolina earned the No. 13 overall seed in the NCAA tournament field and regional hosting privileges after finishing 48-11 under first-year coach Kevin Schnall. CCU also swept the Sun Belt’s regular season and tournament championships.

Coastal Carolina swept the Conway Regional, beating Fairfield and East Carolina twice to advance. The Chants then swept No. 4 national seed Auburn on the road to clinch a CWS berth. Coastal beat Auburn 7-6 in Game 1 and 4-1 in Game 2.

The Chanticleers enter the College World Series on a nation-best 23-game winning streak. Coastal boasts the second-best team ERA in the country (3.21), and junior catcher Caden Bodine is MLB.com’s No. 38 overall draft prospect for 2025.

Where is CCU located?

Coastal Carolina University was founded in 1954 and is located in Conway, South Carolina, about 25 minutes away from Myrtle Beach. CCU is one of three Division I FBS schools in the state (Clemson, South Carolina) and has roughly 11,000 students.
