Clemson is best college football city in country, study finds

Clemson, S.C., home of the national runnerup Clemson Tigers, is the highest-ranked college football town in the country, according to an annual study conducted by WalletHub.com.

Clemson finished No. 2 overall behind Green Bay, Wis., home of the NFL Packers.

Columbia -- home of the South Carolina Gamecocks -- ranks No. 66, but that’s fifth best among SEC cities. Tuscaloosa, Ala., is the top SEC football city and Lexington, Ky. is the worst.

WalletHub.com looked at the 245 largest cities in the U.S. with NFL and college football teams and measured the number and quality of teams, fan passion and cost of attendance, among other things.
