Spurrier’s USC team finishes sixth, but ahead of Swinney’s Clemson team
The South Carolina team of Steve Spurrier and Sterling Sharpe finished at 7-under and in a tie for sixth in the 2016 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge Tuesday at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Resort.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze and celebrity partner Wesley Walls carded a score of 11-under to win the $100,000 first-place prize. Teams from Georgia, Georgia Tech and NC State finished tied for second at nine-under par.
But Spurrier and Sharpe beat the Clemson team of Dabo Swinney and Steve Fuller, who finished at 5-under and in 10th.
