Vandals strike at Williams-Brice
Whenever Clemson scores a touchdown, Tigersplay-by-play announcer Pete Yanity makes hissignature call, “There’s orange in the end zone.”A week and a half before the Clemson-USCgame, vandals painted orange in the south endzone at Williams-Brice Stadium overnight Tuesday.USC equipment manager Chris Matlock saw anaerosol can and “a little orange paint” on the fieldWednesday morning. Matlock said the damagewas minimal and would not require workers tore-sod the grass before the rivalry game Nov. 28.Matlock said the graffiti message, whichincluded a ‘C,’ appeared to be incomplete.The stadium vandalism has become a destructivepart of the rivalry. Last year, vandals sprayedorange paint on the weight room windows atWilliams-Brice.Matlock hopes officials can identify the culpritsthrough surveillance videos.
