Marshall delivered one of the biggest upsets of the college football season on Saturday with a 26-21 road win over No. 8 Notre Dame.

They pulled off the stunner with the help of South Pointe High School alum Steven Gilmore, whose late fourth-quarter interception return for a touchdown gave the Thundering Herd a two-score lead.

Marshall held off Notre Dame for the win.

“They really look at their football players highly. The whole city is just straight football,” Gilmore said in 2018 when he signed to play for Marshall.

He is the brother of NFL player and University of South Carolina great Stephon Gilmore.
