Report: Jared Cook going back to NFC with New Orleans Saints

Jared Cook is headed back to the NFC.

The former South Carolina standout signed a free-agent deal with New Orleans Saints on Thursday, according to NFL Network.

The Saints were in the market for a tight end after Rock Hill native Ben Watson retired following the season.

Cook is entering his 11th season in the NFL and set career-highs last season with the Oakland Raiders. He caught 68 passes for 896 yards and six touchdowns in earning his first Pro Bowl selection.

Cook also has played with the Tennessee Titans, St. Louis Rams and Green Bay Packers. The former third-round pick has 425 catches for 5.464 yards and 25 touchdowns in his career.
