USC playing exhibition to raise money for flood relief efforts
South Carolina baseball is holding a special exhibition game at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium to raise money for flood relief efforts.
The Gamecocks are partnering with the Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission for the exhibition contest, which will take place next Thursday at 7 p.m.
All proceeds from the game will benefit the Salvation Army’s Flood Relief efforts. Admission for the game is $5, while parking is $3.
Carolina coach Chad Holbrook said in a release that he hopes a large crowd will come out to watch the Gamecocks and help raise money for flood victims.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 803-254-3474. Tickets will also be sold at Thursday’s game with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s Garnet & Black World Series will be five games instead of three due to flooding raining out practices earlier this month. USC will play three games at Founders Park this weekend with Game 1 being played on Friday at 4 p.m. The Gamecocks also will play Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Next week USC will play Thursday at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium and Friday at 3 p.m. at Founders Park. All four games at Founders Park are free and open to the public.
