David Cloninger

Cloninger’s pick: Film study

I’ve been watching film.

One game. If we played ’em 10 times they might win nine. But not this game.1 You’re hurt, you’re tired, you’re bleedin.’ I’m gonna make you a promise. We get in that end zone, you’re not gonna feel any pain.2 Win the whole (expletive) thing.3 And when a defining moment comes along, you define the moment, or the moment defines you.4 Go pick me out a winner, Bobby.5 Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory lasts forever.6 This is your time, all right? You take it.7 I don’t want them to gain another yard. You blitz all night!8 We’re going to be awesome for you right now. Just throw.9 Let’s be heroes.10 In any fight, it’s the guy who’s willing to die who’s gonna win that inch.11 But it ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!12 No one, and I mean no one, comes into our house and pushes us around.13 There are few out there who do still believe in you, who will never give up on you. You go back out on the field, those are the people I want in your minds. Those are the people I want in your hearts.14 And David put his hand in the bag and took out a stone and slung it, and struck the Philistine on the head, and he fell to the ground.15
