South Carolina softball is in the NCAA tournament for a program-record seventh-straight season.
USC will travel to the Tallahassee, Florida, regional to open up the 2019 tournament.
South Carolina (36-17) will face South Florida (40-17) at noon Friday on SEC Network. In the other regional opening matchup, No. 4 overall seed Florida State (51-8) faces Bethune-Cookman (26-29) at 2:30 p.m. Friday on ESPNU.
The Seminoles are the defending national champions. The Women’s College World Series begins May 30 in Oklahoma City.
It’s a familiar spot for the Gamecocks, who played in Tallahassee three straight years from 2014 to 2016. South Carolina also played South Florida in its 2016 NCAA opener in Tallahassee.

USC hosted a regional and then advanced to a Super Regional a year ago for the first time under coach Beverly Smith. Before last season under Smith, the team lost in the regional round at Texas (2013), Florida State (2014-16) and Arizona (2017).
The Gamecocks lost their only SEC tournament game on Wednesday, falling to Florida 6-5. The Gators went on to win the conference tournament.
