The South Carolina men’s soccer team snapped a 10-match losing skid to rival Clemson on Friday night at Stone Stadium, earning a 2-2 draw with the No. 1 Tigers.
The Gamecocks’ last decision in the series came with a 2-1 win in 2014. Friday’s result was the second draw in the series, with the last coming in 2000.
USC moved to 1-0-2 with the results, while Clemson is now 1-0-1.
The announced crowd of 6,400 was the third largest in Gamecocks program history. Friday was also the first matchup in the 2024-25 Palmetto Series between USC and Clemson.
South Carolina got goals from Harrison Myring (assist from Junior Saint Juste) and Gabe Nickerson.
The Tigers led 15-10 in shots and 8-to-6 in shots on goal. USC freshman goalkeeper Filip Versterre had six saves.
The Gamecocks play next on Sept. 4 at Jacksonville.
