Dambaugh is third, USC eighth at tournament
Katelyn Dambaugh shot a 3-under 69 and is in an eight-way tie for third place, one-shot back of the individual lead, after the first round of the NCAA Women’s Golf Tournament on Friday.
As a team, South Carolina shot 5-over 293 and is tied for eighth. Oklahoma State leads the team scores with 4-under 284. UCLA is second at 2-under 286.
Purdue’s August Kim and Arizona’s Haley Moore lead the individuals at 68.
In addition to Dambaugh, Ainhoa Olarra is tied for 39th with a 1-over 73. Sarah Schmelzel is tied for 69th at 3-over 75. Isi Nilsson is one back, tied for 85th with 76, and Maria Fassi is tied for 111th at 78.
Furman is tied for 18th at 10-over 298. Haylee Harford leads Furman golfers with 1-under 71, tied for 19th.
Clemson’s Lauren Stephenson is the lone Tiger golfer in the field. She is tied for 69th with a 75.
