McCaskill’s two goals send South Carolina past Clemson

Savannah McCaskill scored two goals as No. 22 South Carolina defeated sixth-ranked Clemson 2-1 on Saturday.

McCaskill gave the Gamecocks (4-0-1) the lead with a header out of the reach of Clemson goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan in the 37th minute. McCaskill added another goal less than four minutes into the second half.

Sam Staab scored the Tigers’ lone goal in the 79th minute.

South Carolina next hosts Charlotte on Monday at 6 p.m.

Clemson (3-2) hosts High Point on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
