Two Kentucky football games scheduled for new SEC Network

The University of Kentucky football team's season opener and Southeastern Conference kickoff will be televised on the new SEC Network, the league announced Thursday.

Kentucky opens the season Aug. 30 at noon against Tennessee-Martin at Commonwealth Stadium.

The Wildcats open SEC play Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. against Florida at Gainesville. The game time and TV schedule have not yet been announced for UK's home game against Ohio on Sept. 6.

The SEC TV schedule announced Thursday included only games in the season's first four weeks.

The SEC Network, operated by ESPN, debuts Aug. 14.

The early schedule released Thursday features at least one home game on the network for each of the SEC teams during the first four weeks of the season.

The SEC Network will feature league content around the clock and televise more than 1,000 live events in its first year.

As of Thursday, four carriers have signed on for the SEC Network — AT&T U-Verse, DISH, Google Fiber and the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative.

Fans who do not have one of those carriers may request the SEC Network at GetSECNetwork.com.
