Derek Mason issues challenge to Vanderbilt fans

Opening the season on the road against an SEC East opponent won’t be easy for South Carolina football.

Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason is aiming to make it a little harder.

The third-year Commodores head man tweeted a letter calling on students, fans and Nashville residents to come out in droves and help fill the stadium. The team had already announced a “white out” for the game.

The capacity of Vanderbilt Stadium is 39,790.
