Inclement weather cancels South Carolina baseball’s game with Presbyterian

South Carolina baseball’s midweek contest against Presbyterian at Founders Park has been canceled due to inclement weather, the Gamecocks announced Wednesday. First pitch had been scheduled for 4 p.m.

No makeup date has been set, the team announced. It is unclear whether the game will be made up or not.

That means the last meeting between the Blue Hose and Gamecocks will continue to be a 7-4 Presbyterian victory in April 2018. That defeat was later cited by coach Mark Kingston and players as a key turning point in the season that started a dramatic run to the NCAA Super Regionals.

USC is coming off an 8-6 comeback victory over Winthrop on Tuesday and will host Utah Valley for a weekend series, starting this Friday at 4 p.m. The game will be streamed online on SEC Network Plus.

Softball moved

The USC softball team’s game that was set for Wednesday will now be played at 4 p.m. Thursday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. Any tickets already purchased will be honored at the gate.
