Jackie Bradley Jr. gets two hits after being called up by Red Sox
Former South Carolina star Jackie Bradley Jr. was called up by the Boston Red Sox from Triple-A Pawtucket and was in the lineup on Thursday.
Bradley was recalled for the third time this season because of Hanley Ramirez's wrist injury.
In a loss to the Orioles, Bradley beat out an infield hit in his second at-bat, snapping an 0-for-30 streak in the majors that included his last 18 at-bats with the Rex Sox in 2014. He also singled in the ninth.
Playing right field, Bradley threw out the Orioles’ David Lough attempting to score on Steve Pearce's flyball, ending the top of the ninth.
The Red Sox will be without injued second baseman Dustin Pedroia for at least a couple of weeks and without Ramirez for a few days.
