Here’s how to watch and stream South Carolina Gamecocks baseball games in 2023
The South Carolina baseball team will play at least eight nationally televised games with a chance for more in 2023, according to a TV schedule released earlier this month.
The Gamecocks are scheduled to play seven games on SEC Network and an eighth on ESPNU, while each of their home games at Founders Park and the non-televised SEC games will be available for streaming via SEC Network Plus.
That SEC Network Plus schedule includes South Carolina’s season-opening home series against UMass Lowell this weekend. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday.
The streaming channel SEC Network Plus is “accessible with your TV provider credentials and is available via the ESPN app on smartphones, tablets, connected streaming devices or espn.com/watch,” according to an ESPN release.
Outside of its eight scheduled appearances, South Carolina could be in play for a “wild card” broadcast during its season-ending May 18-20 series against Tennessee — ESPN has three open slots that week and will select which games to broadcast later this spring.
South Carolina will also play each of its conference tournament games on national TV. SEC Network is broadcasting every game of the 2023 SEC baseball tournament in Hoover, Alabama except for the May 28 championship game, which will appear on ESPN2.
USC finished 27-28 and 13-17 in the SEC in 2022, missing its second NCAA tournament in the past three full seasons and posting its first losing record since 1996. Amid rumors of a potential firing, the school decided to retain head coach Mark Kingston for a sixth season.
Kingston’s 2023 squad debuted at No. 23 in the D1Baseball.com preseason rankings and is anxious to “show you what we really are,” the coach said in a preseason news conference.
Top players to watch for the Gamecocks include ace right-handed pitcher and potential first-round pick Will Sanders, talented infielder Braylen Wimmer and transfer hitters Gavin Casas (Vanderbilt) and Caleb Denny (Oral Roberts).
South Carolina — picked to finish fourth among seven East Division teams in the SEC’s preseason coaches poll — has four nationally televised games scheduled in March, three in April and one in May. The Gamecocks will make their TV debut on Sunday, March 19 at Georgia.
Per usual, each USC baseball game will also be available on the Gamecock Radio Network via flagship station 107.5 FM The Game (see a full list of affiliates here).
