Today’s South Carolina-Clemson baseball game start time changed because of weather
Update, 7:09 p.m.: Clemson-South Carolina is set for an 8:15 p.m. first pitch, according to announcement made to reporters in the press box.
The opening game Friday of the Clemson-South Carolina baseball series will start later than expected because of inclement weather, the schools said.
The game was scheduled to start at 6 p.m., but currently has an estimated first pitch time of 7:30 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
Earlier this week, Clemson baseball said it was “monitoring the weather forecast for Friday, which calls for inclement weather.” The school’s softball team, which was scheduled to host Syracuse at 4 p.m. Friday, pushed that game to Saturday afternoon.
Clemson and USC are scheduled to play their second game Saturday at Greenville’s Fluor Field at 1 p.m. and their third game Sunday at South Carolina’s Founders Park at 1:30 p.m.
Clemson’s inclement weather won’t extend past Friday, according to a 10-day forecast on Weather.com. Saturday’s forecast is sunny with a high of 71 degrees and a 4% chance of rain, and Sunday’s is sunny with a high of 69 and a 3% chance of rain, according to the website.
And the weather in Greenville on Saturday and Columbia for Sunday is forecast to be sunny and near 70 degrees.
