Another change to South Carolina-Tennessee baseball series because of weather
The South Carolina-Tennessee baseball series is dealing with more weather-related changes.
Game 1 of the best-of-three series will now be played on Friday at 7 p.m. at Founders Park.
On Saturday, the teams will play a doubleheader, with the first game starting at 2 p.m. and the second beginning an 45 minutes after the first game ends. Both will be 7 innings. Both games Saturday will be on SEC Network.
The series was postponed from a Thursday start because of rainy conditions. The teams had hoped to get in a full doubleheader Friday, but rain persisted in the area for the first part of the day.
South Carolina heads into the weekend having lost three consecutive SEC series and nine of its last 12 games overall — including dropping midweek contests to North Florida and Charlotte.
The Gamecocks are projected to be one of the last teams to earn hosting privileges when the NCAA Tournament begins next month. D1Baseball has South Carolina slotted as the No. 11 team in the field and in a projected Columbia regional with North Carolina, Southern Cal and Central Connecticut State.
