Cleveland Indians call up Michael Roth to big-league roster
Michael Roth is back in the big leagues.
Roth on Tuesday was promoted from Triple-A Columbus to the Cleveland Indians’ main roster. In 19 starts for the Clippers this season, Roth is 7-6 record with a 4.16 ERA. He has 70 strikeouts and 37 walks in 114 2/3 innings pitches.

The Indians (45-54) have lost six straight after Kansas City won 2-1 Tuesday at Cleveland. It marked the Indians’ eighth straight home loss.
After posting a 26-6 record and 1.91 ERA in four seasons for the Gamecocks while helping the program win a pair of national championships, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Roth was selected in the ninth round of the 2012 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Angels.
He posted a 2-1 record 7.79 ERA over 321/3 innings in 22 appearances for the Angels during several major-league call-ups over the past two seasons.
The left-hander left Los Angeles in November after clearing waivers and electing to become a free agent. He agreed to a deal in late December with the Indians.
Roth was chosen by the Indians in the 31st round of the 2011 MLB draft after his All-America junior season with USC.
