South Carolina baseball picked up a transfer from its rival.

Left-handed pitcher Hudson Lee announced Tuesday on Instagram that he is transferring from Clemson to South Carolina.

Lee will be the sixth former Clemson player to transfer to USC over the last few years. Nathan Hall and Nolan Nawrocki transferred last season, with Hall turning into one of the Gamecocks’ top players in 2025.

Two years ago, three additional players (Dylan Brewer, Jonathan French and Ricky Williams) also transferred from Clemson to USC after a coaching change.

Former Tigers coach Monte Lee has worked as South Carolina’s associate head coach/hitting coach since he was fired from Clemson in May 2022.

USC will be Lee’s third stop. He spent two seasons at Wake Forest from 2023-24 before heading to Clemson last season. The former Dorman High standout had a 5.79 ERA in 15 games out of the bullpen last year for Clemson and struck out 19 in 14 innings.

Lee didn’t make an appearance for the Tigers during their three-game series against USC this season.

The Gamecocks have been busy in the transfer portal since the season ended. Lee is the 16th player to transfer to the Gamecocks since June.

USC and coach Paul Mainieri have lost 19 players to the transfer portal.
