Talented SEC transfer commits to Kevin Schnall, Gamecocks baseball
South Carolina baseball has picked up yet another transfer portal commitment.
Auburn outfielder Bristol Carter announced his intentions to transfer to Kevin Schnall and the Gamecocks on social media Monday. Carter spent the last two seasons with the Tigers after starting his career at East Carolina.
“Blessed...Let’s do this,” Carter posted.
This past season Carter touted a .298 batting average with 45 hits for Auburn. He nearly set a career-high with an .812 OPS. Carter is a menace on the base paths and was tied for third in the SEC this year with 31 stolen bases on 32 attempts.
Those numbers were an all-around improvement from the previous year. In 2025, Carter’s first year at Auburn, he had 14 stolen bases and had a .667 OPS. Carter also recorded a .243 batting average and 34 hits.
The Oak Ridge, North Carolina native started his career at East Carolina. Carter earned Second Team Freshman All-America honors from Perfect Game in 2024 after he totaled 55 hits and posted an impressive .346 batting average in 56 games.
Carter is the third transfer to commit to South Carolina on Monday. He joins Maryland pitcher Andrew Koshy and USF pitcher Ethan Sutton. South Carolina pitcher Brandon Stone also decided to withdraw his name from the transfer portal and return to the Gamecocks.
