USC baseball’s Madison Stokes sidelined with foot injury
South Carolina sophomore infielder Madison Stokes will be out six to eight weeks with a foot injury suffered in Friday’s scrimmage.
Stokes sustained a Jones Fracture to his right foot (fifth metatarsal) and is scheduled to have surgery within the next week.
Stokes signed with USC out of A.C. Flora. He played in 25 games with 21 starts in 2015, hitting .207 (17-for-82) with six runs scored, four doubles and nine RBIs.
This season he was battling for a spot a first or third base.
