South Carolina-North Carolina baseball postponed until Wednesday
The top 15 showdown between South Carolina and North Carolina scheduled for Tuesday in Charlotte will have to wait one more day. The game has been postponed until Wednesday due to thunderstorms in the forecast.
The game will still be played at 7:05 p.m. in BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte. All tickets issued for the game will be valid on Wednesday. Standing room only tickets are still available and can be purchased at the ballpark ticket office or by visiting CharlotteKnights.com.
The matchup was scheduled to be televised by SEC Network but will now be on ESPNU.
South Carolina (28-5, 10-2) is off to its best start in SEC play in school history and is ranked in the top 5 by both Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball. North Carolina is 23-9 and 8-7 in the ACC. The Tar Heels are ranked No. 14 by Baseball America and No. 15 by D1Baseball.com.
Softball shifts a day
With a high chance of rain on Tuesday in Spartanburg, South Carolina (30-10) and USC Upstate (32-11) have agreed to push back their game until Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Cyrill Stadium.
This will mark the seventh meeting between the two teams, with both picking up three wins each in the series that began in 2009. Last season, South Carolina picked up a 3-0 win.
