South Carolina’s baseball stadium, which is already considered to be one of the best in the country, is set to get nearly $1 million worth of upgrades.

The South Carolina Board of Trustees at a meeting Friday approved the addition at Founders Park of a players lounge and new media room.

The budget for the upgrades is $975,000, and the project will be funded by private gifts. The additions are expected to be completed before the start of next season.

USC’s current first-floor media room will be transformed into a players lounge and will include a variety of seating and tables for studying and recreation. It will be accessible from the building’s lobby.

The new media room will be constructed on the second level and will feature tiered theater-style seating. The room also will include video equipment and can double as a team meeting space.
