Gamecocks remain in top 10 despite series loss to Kentucky
South Carolina remains ranked in the top 10 in college baseball polls released Monday despite a 2-2 week that saw the Gamecocks lose two of three games at Kentucky.
USC is ranked No. 8 by Baseball America and Perfect Game, while D1Baseball.com dropped Carolina to No. 9.
The Gamecocks are No. 5 in the RPI, down a spot from last week.
Even with a 1-2 week in conference play, South Carolina remains tied with Florida atop the SEC standings with a 16-7 league mark.
USC and the Gators hold a half-game lead on Texas A&M (16-8), the Gamecocks’ opponent this weekend.
South Carolina hosts Presbyterian on Tuesday before beginning a three-game series with the second-ranked Aggies Friday at Founders Park.
