South Carolina third baseman Jonah Bride has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, it was announced Wednesday morning.

Each school in the conference has one representative, and Bride was chosen as USC’s member of the team.

The sophomore has volunteered at several different places in Columbia, including playing bingo with senior citizen residents at Christopher Towers, assisting at Fort Jackson with flood relief for damaged neighborhoods and delivering bottles of water and reading books and playing games with children at Epworth Children’s Home.

Bride is batting .280 on the year with 11 doubles, two home runs and 26 RBIs and has a fielding percentage of .990.

The Oklahoma native finished with a career high four hits and five RBIs Tuesday night against The Citadel, leading the Gamecocks to a 16-4 victory.
