South Carolina pitcher Wil Crowe will make his long-awaited return to the mound this week when he starts the home opener for the Lexington County Blowfish.

Crowe underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2015 after suffering an elbow injury.

USC’s Friday night starter last season had a 3-4 record with a 4.91 ERA, numbers that didn’t come close to his freshman campaign, when he earned Freshman All-America honors from Baseball America with an 8-3 mark with a 2.75 ERA in 91 2/3 innings over 15 starts.

Lexington County’s home opener is 7:05 p.m. Wednesday against Florence.

The Blowfish are part of the Coastal Plain League, a summer collegiate baseball league.
