A roundup of social media posts from South Carolina baseball players as their 2016 season ends.

Senior shortstop Marcus Mooney posted on his Instagram page: “Well, that’s that. Today I took off my Carolina jersey for the last time and it was not easy. The friendships and memories I’ve made these past three years are something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I’m beyond grateful I had the opportunity to play baseball at one of the top, premiere baseball schools in the country. Lastly, thank you #gamecocknation for making Columbia feel like a second home for me and always being behind us no matter the outcome. You guys are awesome!! It’s now time for a new chapter in my life and I’m blessed this next chapter still involves baseball. FOREVER TO THEE!!! MoonDog out! We’ll see ya.

At a loss for words still, but crazy how much I loved my years playing here at Carolina. Taking off the Garnet and Black today for the last time was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Thank you to my family, friends, fans, coaches, physical therapists, trainers and everyone else who have supported me through my roller coaster career. Without you this dream would have never been possible. And for all of my past teammates and especially this 2016 team, thank you for giving me the memories and relationships that will be with me forever. Cheers #ForevertoThee
