South Carolina landed a pair of baseball commitments for the class of 2018 over the past two days in pitcher Daniel Lloyd of Summerville and catcher Wesley Clarke of Lynchburg, Va.

Lloyd committed to the Gamecocks on Tuesday, while Clarke announced his commitment Wednesday.

As a sophomore, Lloyd pitched sparingly for a strong Green Wave team.

Lloyd was a teammate of Sawyer Bridges, who pitched for Summerville last season and will play for the Gamecocks in 2017. Lloyd is a submarine pitcher.

Clarke plays at Liberty Christian High School, where he put up impressive numbers each of the past two years.

As a freshman he hit .500 with five homers, 12 doubles and 29 RBIs. Last year he hit .427 with four home runs, 16 doubles and 25 RBIs.

The Gamecocks now have seven commits for the class of 2018.
