Gamecocks land third baseball commit this week
South Carolina picked up its third baseball commitment in as many days as outfielder Brodie Blanton of Summerville announced his commitment to the Gamecocks on Thursday.
Blanton is a 2019 prospect who finished up his freshman year of high school in the spring.
He continues the pipeline from Summerville to USC, joining current Gamecocks outfielder TJ Hopkins, enrollee Sawyer Bridges, signee Wilson Beattie and 2018 prospect Daniel Lloyd. Lloyd, a pitcher, committed to South Carolina earlier this week.
As a freshman, Blanton hit .327 with three doubles, four RBIs, 11 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 25 games.
Blanton is the third commit for the Gamecocks in the class of 2019.
