USC’s Elliott Fry earns weekly SEC honor for effort against Vandy

South Carolina senior kicker Elliott Fry has been named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Fry kicked two field goals against Vanderbilt, including a career-long 55-yarder that won the game 13-10.

Other players of the week:

▪  Offense: Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia (222 yards on 32 carries and two touchdowns)

▪  Defense: Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama (4 tackles, 2 sacks)

▪  Freshman: Jonah Williams, OL, Alabama (true freshman started at right tackle, earned grade of 85 percent)

▪  Offensive lineman: Erik McCoy, C, Texas A&M (helped QB avoid a sack, O-line cleared way for 203 net rushing yards, 3 TDs)

▪  Defensive lineman: Deatrich Wise, DE, Arkansas (7 tackles, critical sack in fourth quarter)
