Tape tells Gamecocks football players how far they’ve come
South Carolina’s football team has seen improvement on the granular skill level as the season has gone on.
The offensive line has settled in of late. Coach Will Muschamp said the tackling has been good, and the work playing in space and getting off blocks has grown better.
“We’ve improved, but we’re still not to be confused with good,” Muschamp said.
To get that improvement, it helps to have positive reinforcement. It helps to see what’s been going right.
And the staff has a way to do that, documentation of how far some of their players have come.
“That’s one of the things our defensive staff and offensive staff does a really nice job of,” Muschamp said, “pulling out tape from week 1, 2 and 3 and showing them where they are now as far as hand placement and pad level and strike and playing behind their pads.
“Players need to see improvement to continue to put the work in.”
