It’s not always freezing in Birmingham for bowl games
South Carolina fans remember two things about the PapaJohns.com Bowl after the 2009 season in Birmingham, Ala.:
▪ The Gamecocks played pretty poorly against Connecticut, with dropped passes a theme of the day in a 20-7 loss.
▪ It was windy and cold. Very cold.
The USC-UConn matchup (high of 36, low of 21) was the coldest of the last 10 bowl games at Legion Field, with freezing temperatures on gameday five times. Not all of the games have been that cold, though. The average high is closer to 52.
A look at the weather extremes for the Birmingham game as the Gamecocks prepare to face South Florida.
