South Carolina has 5 selections to Athlon’s preseason All-SEC teams

South Carolina players have five spots on Athlon Sports’ preseason all-SEC team released Tuesday.

Junior wide receiver Deebo Samuel occupies two of those selections: one as a first-team receiver and another as a second-team specialist.

Junior Hayden Hurst is Athlon’s pick for first-team tight end. Senior linebacker Skai Moore is a second-team selection, while junior offensive lineman Zack Bailey made the third team.

Alabama leads the way with 15 selections.

South Carolina opens the 2017 season Sept. 2 against N.C. State in a game to be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
