Gamecocks moving up, predicted to finish middle of the pack in SEC East
This year’s media members at the SEC Football Media Days are higher on South Carolina’s chances in the conference in 2017 than they were a year ago.
The Gamecocks are predicted to finish fourth in the SEC Eastern Division this season, a year after being picked to finish last. USC finished fifth in 2016, ahead of Vanderbilt and Missouri.
Those same media believe Alabama will win the 2017 SEC Championship.
Georgia was selected to win the SEC East, followed by Florida and Tennessee.
South Carolina received five first-place votes in the SEC East and one to win the SEC championship game.
The annual picks were released Friday, a day after the event wrapped up in Hoover, Ala.
