George Rogers takes in documentary screening alongside Muschamp, USC lettermen
“King George,” an hourlong “SEC Storied” documentary on former South Carolina running back George Rogers, debuts next week on the SEC Network.
On Thursday, the Gamecock great watched a special private screening of the documentary at Wild Wings Café in the Vista. He was joined by former teammates, members of the USC Lettermen’s Association and head coach Will Muschamp.
Rogers ran for 5,091 and 31 touchdowns in his USC career. He ran for 1,781 yards and 14 scores in 1980 to win the Heisman.
Asked on his call-in radio show about tackling Rogers, Muschamp said, “Thank goodness I didn’t have to.”
