Will Muschamp updates Gamecocks injury situation

South Carolina football coach Will Muschamp said the question of who will start up front for the Gamecocks against Vanderbilt will go all the way down to the day before the game.

Former starters Zack Bailey and Corey Helms are coming back off ankle injuries. In Muschamp’s own words, their replacements, Sadarius Hutcherson and Blake Camper played well. So it will go to Friday’s walkthrough and conversations within the staff to decide who gets the starting nods.

Muschamp said all four, plus returning tackle Malik Young, will play in the game.

The coach said wide receivers Terry Googer (concussion) and Chad Terrell (ankle) won’t play.

On the Deebo Samuel situation, Muschamp reiterated what he said early in the week: the Gamecocks’ star receiver is walking well, but they want to be absolutely certain the broken bone in his leg is healed before he goes.
