USC wins 1st 'bowl' game vs. UConn
South Carolina defeated Connecticut in a bowl game of sorts Thursday night, though this one featured a six-on-six matchup.
The Gamecocks and Huskies each fielded a six-man bowling team in the Vestavia Bowl Bowling Showdown, and USC came out on top.
The event took place at Vestavia Bowl in Vestavia Hills, Ala., a few miles south of Birmingham. All players from both teams also participated in an evening of bowling and barbecue.
USC's winning team included offensive guard Pierre Andrews; offensive tackle Kyle Nunn; fullback Patrick DiMarco; wide receiver Moe Brown; and assistant coaches Lorenzo Ward and G.A. Mangus.
The teams face off Saturday at 2 p.m. EST in the Papajohns.com Bowl at Legion Stadium.
