Melvin Ingram hits milestone Saturday for Chargers
Double-digit sacks is a nice benchmark. It doesn’t say everything, but it seems to put a pass-rusher in a certain class.
Melvin Ingram hit that mark once thus far in his career, when he got to 10 1/2 in 2015. Make that twice after Saturday night.
The former Gamecocks and current Los Angeles Chargers linebacker reached 10 sacks when he took down Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.
Melvin Ingram recorded his 10th sack of the season. He joins Joey Bosa (11.5) as the first Chargers duo since 2006 to register double-digit sacks in the same season. #LACvsKC

In Columbia, Ingram was a consensus All-American in 2011. He had 21 1/2 career sacks, with 19 in his final two seasons, plus 30 1/2 career tackles for loss.
