Gamecocks starter played most of 2017 hurt, he says
After the 2016 season, word leaked out South Carolina football guard Cory Helms played much of the season injured.
The 2017 season apparently wasn’t much different.
In a letter announcing he had surgery, he said his high ankle sprain suffered in Week 4 never healed. That means he played hurt the final six games of the season after missing three.
