Alshon vs Gilmore on the Super Bowl’s final play? Madden 18 simulation predicts it

It would be quite an ending to the Super Bowl.

It would be an even bigger moment for the South Carolina faithful.

As is tradition, EA Sports ran a Madden NFL 18 simulation of Sunday’s Super Bowl between New England and Philadelphia. The simulation, which is 10-for-14 historically, had the Patriots prevailing 24-20, with former Gamecocks stars Alshon Jeffery and Stephon Gilmore going head-to-head in the final moments.

“Patriots defensive back Stephon Gilmore knocks away a Foles pass to Jeffrey as time expires to seal a 24-20 victory and a sixth title for New England,” according to an AP report.

Jeffery and Gilmore were college roommates and two of the most decorated players in Gamecocks history.

Gilmore was a three-year starter and an All-American in 2011. Jeffery is still first among Gamecocks in career receiving yards and tied for most career touchdowns.

And at a couple points in their careers, Gilmore was even slinging passes Jeffery.
