The South Point Hotel & Casino sportsbook released its college football win totals over the weekend, and the odds makers there aren’t bullish on South Carolina’s football season.
The over-under for the Gamecocks’ win total in 2018 is seven, according to the South Point. While that’s right in line with South Carolina’s historical success on the gridiron, it’s not overly optimistic considering the schedule the Gamecocks will face this fall.
Only one SEC team and two FBS teams on South Carolina’s schedule are expected to win more than 7.5 games this season by the South Point. Those teams are Georgia (10.5) and Clemson (11).
The projection lines up with other win total estimations this offseason. ESPN’s Football Power Index predicts the Gamecocks will win 7.2 games this year, and the BetDSI sportsbook also set South Carolina’s over/under at seven victories.
