Gamecocks’ Bryson Allen-Williams earns invite to NFL Combine

Another South Carolina Gamecock player has received an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine.

Linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams earned a spot to next month’s event. The NFL Scouting Combine will be held Feb. 26-March 4 in Indianapolis.

Allen-Williams is the second Gamecock to earn an invite, joining teammate Deebo Samuel. A complete list hasn’t been released yet.

The Georgia native was one of the nation’s top linebacker recruits coming out of college but has been bothered by injuries the past two seasons. This season, Allen-Williams appeared in nine games and recorded 41 tackles, 10 for loss and two sacks.

Allen-Williams rehabbed from an ankle injury and returned to play in the Belk Bowl. For his career, he had 176 tackles, 25 for loss.

NFL Draft Bible scouting report on Allen-Williams compares him to Philadephia’s Kamu Grugier-Hill, who is a hybrid type player who has found a home at linebacker while becoming one of the special teams’ players in the league.
